This practice — sometimes called a “housing pirate” scam — involves companies that reach out by email or phone, posing as event partners and directing you to fraudulent booking links. If you provide your credit card information, your card may be charged with no guarantee of an actual reservation.

Book your hotel only through the official link. If you receive a suspicious outreach, do not click any links or share any personal or payment information.
