Gonzalo Camiña Ceballos

Chief Executive Officer and Co Founder BeWay Consulting

Gonzalo Camiña is the co-founder and CEO of BeWay, the behavioral science consultancy with the largest presence in the private sector worldwide. Since 2021, BeWay has grown from 18 to more than 180 professionals across four continents — a pace of growth that placed the company at #96 in the Financial Times 1000 ranking of Europe’s fastest-growing companies, #4 among all consultancies on the list.

Applying its own methodology, BeMate, BeWay redesigns the decisions that shape financial health: how people save, manage debt, and plan for retirement. Its work spans BBVA’s original behavioral economics program, pension systems across Latin America — including AforeCoppel, Profuturo, and SURA Asset Management — and financial institutions in emerging markets such as Boubyan Bank in Kuwait and Nedbank in South Africa.

Camiña’s view is that most financial inclusion strategies fail for a behavioral reason, not an access one — and that closing the gap between financial access and financial wellbeing is a design problem regulators can act on. He holds a double degree in Financial Economics and Business Administration from Methodist University (North Carolina) and a Master’s in Management from ESCP Business School (Paris), and has been recognized with the Iberian Inclusion Plus Award from the MetLife Foundation and named a Top 25 Visionary Leader by Startupbootcamp and Innoleaps.

Before founding BeWay, he worked in financial markets in New York and London.
