Lawrence Bowdish is the Lead for Insights for Financial Opportunity Philanthropy at Wells Fargo Foundation. In his role, he manages a nonprofit grant portfolio that includes financial counseling, innovative solutions to financial health challenges, and workforce development programming. Previously he was the Executive Director for Research for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation. He has a PhD in American and Economic History from the Ohio State University where he published his dissertation, “Invidious Distinctions: Credit Discrimination Against Women, 1960s-Present” (2010).
