Hemant Taneja is a managing partner at General Catalyst and the founder of the firm’s Silicon Valley operations. He is an early investor in market-leading companies like Stripe, Gusto, Livongo, Samsara, Grammarly, Fundbox, and Snap. In his 2018 book, UNSCALED, Hemant articulates the need for accountability, transparency, and explainability as AI permeates every aspect of our daily lives. In his more recent paper in Harvard Business Review, “The Era of Move Fast and Break Things is Over”, he advocates for venture capitalists to a adopt a framework for responsible investing.
