Financial Health Pulse® Research 2022

2022 marked the five-year anniversary of the Financial Health Pulse® as a leading resource for insights on the financial well-being of people across America. This year also brought historic challenges to financial health, as the percentage of Financially Healthy people declined for the first time in Pulse’s five-year history.

2022 Key Findings

Decline in financial health

The proportion of Financially Healthy people declined to 31%, a drop of three percentage points from the previous year.

Expenses outpace incomes

Declines in financial health were likely shaped by expenses outpacing income and reductions in savings.

All groups impacted

Many groups saw their financial health decline, including Black and White people as well as men and women.
