Jennifer Tescher to Present Initial Findings from Nationally-Representative Consumer Survey

Chicago, IL – The Financial Health Network announced today that President and CEO Jennifer Tescher will speak at Money 20/20, the largest worldwide gathering for payments and financial services innovators. Tescher, a recognized thought leader on consumer financial health, will share new research from recent survey data collected for the Financial Health Network’s upcoming Consumer Financial Health Study.

“This new research provides information that helps financial services providers understand challenges that consumers face,” said Tescher. “We are looking forward to being at Money 20/20, delivering our initial findings and making the case for product innovations and consumer-centered design.”

The Consumer Financial Health Study is a nationally representative survey designed to increase understanding of financial health, consumer use of financial products and services, as well as consumer attitudes and preferences. The initial findings explore the core elements of financial health:

  • Smooth and effective management of day-to-day financial life
  • Resilience in the face of inevitable ups and downs; and the
  • Capacity to seize opportunities that will lead to financial security and mobility over time

Continued Tescher: “Often the key to designing innovative services that meet customer needs is to clearly define and understand those needs. Delivering the right solutions can result in improved financial health for the consumer and deepened customer engagement and loyalty for the provider.”

Tescher will speak on Monday, November 3rd at 9:40am – 10:25 am PT in the session titled, “Consumers’ Changing Relationships with Financial Services: New Research” located in room Juniper 3. About the Consumer Financial Health Study:
The Financial Health Network Consumer Financial Health Study is a nationally representative survey designed to increase understanding of the interplay among indicators of financial health, consumers’ use of a range of financial products and services, and consumers attitudes and preferences.
The Financial Health Network commissioned GfK, an online consumer research company, to deploy the survey, which was fielded from June through August 2014. More than 7,000 individuals over the age of 18 responded to the survey.

The Consumer Financial Health Study benefited from strategic input and generous financial support from American Express.

The study also received financial support from the Ford Foundation and MetLife Foundation.
