Behavioral Design and Removing Barriers to Emergency Savings
Lack of emergency savings hinders financial resiliency, and workplace programs to make automated savings contributions can help. The Financial Health Leaders Lab used behavioral design techniques in partnership with Even Responsible Finance to study the impact of presenting users with an active choice to save during onboarding to an employer-based financial management platform. Commonwealth developed a template approved by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to ease regulatory hurdles that might prevent employers from offering certain automated savings products. Our panelists share how enhanced user experience, and decreased regulatory uncertainty, will help drive results.
