Overview
36% of U.S. adults rent their homes. That’s millions of people who, according to data from a recent Financial Health Pulse® survey, are much more likely to be Financially Vulnerable than people who own their homes. This reality is even starker for Black and Latinx-led households, 58% and 52% of whom rent their homes, respectively.
2022 Exchange grantee Flagstone Initiative, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is working to improve renter finhealth. It provides a financial shock-absorber for renter households through rent splitting, emergency loans, and emergency savings. Through its work, Flagstone has learned about the unique finhealth challenges renters face – and the solutions that can make a difference.
Join the Financial Solutions Lab and Flagstone for a conversation about renter financial health, featuring:
- The many finhealth challenges renters face.
- Critical insights from surveys of renters with low incomes.
- The early-intervention solutions that can help renters build their financial health and prevent eviction.
- Learnings from Flagstone’s work delivering finhealth solutions to renters.
