Sean researches the impact of innovation on financial health at the San Francisco Fed. He currently focuses on uses of alternative data in credit underwriting and emerging practices in financial health measurement.

During the pandemic, Sean led a team of economists, supervisors, and community development specialists that designed policy supports for small businesses. He previously researched innovations that expanded financial access in Asia as an economist in the SF Fed’s Asia Program. He holds degrees from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and Harvard College and is a CFA charter-holder and term member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
