Raul Vazquez is the CEO of Oportun, a high-growth, mission-driven Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and provider of inclusive, affordable financial services that empower people to build a better future. 
Based in Silicon Valley, Oportun serves individuals who are typically shut out of the financial mainstream because they don’t have a credit score or have limited credit history.  As of the end of 2019, Oportun has made over 3.7 million loans totaling over $8.4 billion to customers across 12 states. Customers have saved an estimated $1.7 billion in interests and fees by choosing Oportun over other lenders.  Oportun went public in September 2019 and is listed on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol OPRT.
Raul joined Oportun in 2012 after having held senior leadership roles at Walmart, including President and CEO of Walmart.com, and EVP and President of Walmart West. 
Raul serves on the Board of Directors of Intuit and is a board member of the National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders (NALCAB). He has previously served as a board member for Staples, as a member of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) Consumer Advisory Board, and as Chair of the Federal Reserve Board’s Community Advisory Council.
Mr. Vazquez was named the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2018 National Award winner in the Financial Services category, and was a recipient of the Silicon Valley Business Journals’ 2020 Latino Leadership Award. Under his leadership, Oportun was recently recognized by Fast Company as one of the World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2020 and named by Time Magazine as a Genius Company in 2018 as one of 50 businesses inventing the future. 
Mr. Vazquez is a graduate of Stanford University with BS and MS degrees in industrial engineering and earned an MBA at the Wharton School of Business.
