Kristi Longoria

Member Experience and Financial Wellbeing Program Partner Patelco CU

Kristi’s path to working in the credit union industry is an untraditional one. She began her professional career in STEM with a BS in Applied Mathematics and a concentration in Physics but developed a passion for helping youth along the way. After several years of being a mentor, tutor, and college advisor, the financial barriers that kept underrepresented students from a higher education was at the heart of the problem that she wanted to solve. Out of pure luck, she stumbled upon an industry that dedicates full time resources to the criticality of financial wellbeing; it’s also one that has the power to close the very gap that she was trying to bridge.

Currently, Kristi leads and participates in enterprise-wide projects that support member wellbeing such as the implementation of a student checking product and the launch of several fintech resources for members. She has extensive experience running scholarship programs, developing specialized financial education content and curriculum for sensitive groups like incarcerated youth and teen-age parents, and is driven by the credit union philosophy of People Helping People.
