Elena Botella is a principal at Omidyar Network, where she manages a portfolio of grants and investments aimed at encouraging responsible corporate conduct on social, consumer, and worker issues through shareholder intervention. 

Her book Delinquent: Inside America’s Debt Machine is forthcoming from University of California Press in October 2022. Her work on financial health has been featured in Slate, Vice, The New Republic, American Banker and elsewhere. Previously, Elena was a senior business manager in Capital One’s credit card division.
