Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships United Way of Greater Atlanta

Alvin Glymph is a strategic architect of partnerships and a nationally connected leader committed to improving child well-being and economic mobility across Greater Atlanta. He currently serves as Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at United Way of Greater Atlanta, where he leads high-impact collaborations that align philanthropy, public systems, corporate partners, and community organizations to accelerate outcomes for children and families.

In this role, Alvin works across departments—including Community Engagement and the Office of Development—to strengthen fundraising strategy, cultivate local and national funder relationships, and translate data into compelling investment narratives. He plays a key leadership role in advancing the Child Well-Being Index, ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) insights, and the development of the regional initiatives designed to ensure every child in the region is on a path to college, career, and lifelong success.

Previously, Alvin served as Interim Chief Community Impact Officer, overseeing the Child Well-Being Impact Fund and guiding cross-functional teams to align strategy, measurement, and community voice. His leadership centers on leveraging relationships, elevating data-informed decision-making, and building systems that create lasting equity and opportunity.

Before joining United Way, Alvin held senior roles including Director of Grants and Partnerships Development for DeKalb County School District, Director of Evaluation and Strategic Partnerships at Project GRAD Atlanta, and Research Associate at the Georgia State University Applied Research Center in the Andrew Young School of Policy Studies.

He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Colgate University and a Master’s in Educational Research from Emory University.

Alvin is also a youth basketball coach, mentor, and community builder who believes that leadership is most powerful when it is relational, courageous, and grounded in service. He has been recognized with the Maroon Citation from Colgate University and the A+ Partnership Award from the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce for his contributions to education and community impact.
