Alex De Marco

Alex De Marco is the founder and CEO of MoneyStack, the company behind GamFin, a financial counseling platform that integrates financial counseling into gambling addiction treatment programs. After accumulating significant debt and falling prey to predatory services that exploit people in financial trouble, Alex experienced firsthand the mental health toll of financial distress. It became his mission to ensure people facing financial crisis can access trustworthy support, because financial health is mental health.

Gambling addiction is MoneyStack’s entry point into a broader vision: integrating financial counseling across behavioral healthcare. A 3x founder and former Director of Engineering at The New York Times, Alex brings the technical background and startup experience to scale MoneyStack’s work with behavioral healthcare providers nationwide, helping clients in recovery rebuild their financial lives.

He holds a Master of Applied Science in Software Engineering from Concordia University in Montreal.
