Overview

Investing in stocks over time is one of the most effective ways to grow wealth. Yet with low investment literacy and even lower trust in financial institutions, millions of Black Americans struggle to access the wealth-building power of the stock market. How can financial industry leaders equip a new generation of Black investors to enter the market with confidence and help close the racial wealth gap?

The Student Investment Program equips students at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and other minority-serving institutions (MSIs) with the resources they need to start their investment journeys early. Launched by Prudential Financial in partnership with Student Freedom Initiative and Stackwell, the pilot provides hands-on investing education and $1,000 for students to invest in a portfolio of their choice.

Watch the video to learn how the Student Investment Program is helping the next generation of Black investors get a head start on building their financial futures.
